New high-performance TecnoGrabber® arrives in Manresa, Barcelona
posted in News by TecnoConverting
TecnoConverting Engineering has completed the installation of its new high-performance TecnoGrabber® model in the city of Manresa. This innovative system, which integrates the most advanced debris capture and retention technologies, represents a major step forward in protecting rivers and seas from floating debris and gross solids.
Greater capacity and efficiency: a step forward against environmental challenges
The system installed in Manresa is a high-performance TecnoGrabber® deflector equipped with three High-Strength meshes. Designed specifically to operate in locations with space constraints—such as sewer overflows (spillways) and river outfalls—this new model stands out for its increased capacity, retaining up to 1,500 kg of debris, a significant improvement over the previous model, which had a maximum capacity of 900 kg. This upgrade ensures more effective environmental protection, especially during heavy rainfall events that cause sewer overflows.
Design innovation: rectangular inlets for higher performance
One of the main innovations of the new TecnoGrabber® deflector is the use of rectangular inlet openings, replacing traditional circular ones. This change in geometry provides a considerably larger collection area, translating into improved overall system performance. Thanks to this optimized design, the retention capacity has increased by 30% to 70%, depending on each installation’s characteristics.
A firm step toward environmental commitment and regulatory compliance
The installation of the TecnoGrabber® system in Manresa not only strengthens debris-retention efficiency, but is also aligned with Royal Decree 665/2023, which requires the implementation of systems to retain gross and floating solids in order to protect the Public Hydraulic Domain. This project adds to the many systems already deployed by TecnoConverting in the region, reinforcing our commitment to environmental protection and compliance with current regulations.
TecnoConverting would like to thank Aigües de Manresa for their initiative and commitment to adopting sustainable solutions. Their collaboration has been key to implementing this system and helping protect and conserve the region’s water resources.
